As a pupil of Amanda's Driving School, we make sure you are fully prepared for every aspect of the two tests and that you have all the information you need to pass.  For advance information however, below are further details regarding the two tests you will need to take.

Theory Test

Before we are able to book you a Practical Test, you must have first passed your Theory.

The Test is broken into two parts,  questions and Hazard Perception.  For the questions you will be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes then you will move on to the Hazard Perception part, where you will be shown moving clips and you are scored on your reaction to seeing the Hazard early and clicking the mouse button.

To pass the Theory you need to score 43 out of 50 (questions) and score 44 out of 75 on the Hazard Perception.

You must pass both sections.

Practical Test

At the start of the test the examiner will ask you to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres.  This is to check your eyesight.  They will then ask you two questions about general car maintenance, these are called "show me, tell me"  questions.  Once those questions have been asked, you will then commence the driving part of the test.

The test takes around 40 minutes and will include two manouvres.  You are only allowed to make 15 minor errors, any more will result in a fail and if you receive any Serious or Dangerous errors then that also results in a fail.
